Quad Bike Racer Mike Walsh

Raising money for Limbcare.

We welcome Mark Walsh as he kicks off this 2012 season supporting Limbcare as his nominated charity. Mark met Ray Edwards MBE (a Quad Amputee) in Lanzarote on holiday 5 years ago, since then they have become good friends.

Mark explained to Ray the MD and Chairman of Limbcare, that his intention was to help out with the charity by way of Racing for Limbcare. The 1st event being Margate on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March 2012, doubles up as the first two rounds of the ATE MCF British Beach Cross championship which is run at three resorts over three weekends throughout the year, kicking off at Margate then heading onto to Joes Bar, Ingoldmells in Lincolnshire for the Goldrush Beach Cross weekend on 23rd 24th June then the final two rounds, five and six at Ramsgate in Kent on either the 20th/21st or 27th28thOctober, date to be confirmed shortly.......... The series will not be easy as some of the best quad racers from around the UK as well as overseas will all be competing for the vital points.

Although I have been racing bikes on and off for about 25 years this is the first time I have been back in the saddle to compete serious in about 8 years, it will be hard going but hopefully we can pick up the points as the series progress, the bikes being raced are Yamaha 350 twins they have been rebuilt over the winter so fingers crossed we should have very little or no reliability problems, at 38 I am a fair bit older than when previously raced so fitness has been high on my agenda but by hitting the gym on a regular basis we should be able to hold onto the Limbcare bike........to bring home the points..
