Proposed Changes To Disability Benefits
The Government is proposing major change to Disability Benefits. The Department for Work and Pensions is offering you the chance to give your views as part of a consultation process. If such changes were to be implemented, disabled people would have their Disability Living Allowance replaced by a new benefit, the Personal Independence Payment. This would be a non-means tested benefit, with an additional objective, supposedly to help disabled people lead fuller, more independent lives.
If you wish to find out more about the Personal Independence Fund and get involved in the consultation process, you can access the information by following the link provided here http://www.dwp.gov.uk/consultations/2010/dla-reform.shtml or by clicking on the 'Proposed Benefits Changes' link to the right hand side of this text. If you do wish to provide your input to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), please ensure you do so by the closing date of 14th February 2011. For full details of the consultation procedure, please access the DWP website using the link provided.
